It’s very clear, and very intuitive. I don’t have any criticisms:...
– I had a very good meeting, re: web design, today.
I appreciate the recognition and phone message, but I have a hard time believing that this year’s Multiple Sclerosis Donation Drive was a success because of the time I put in.
Why do people take their shoes off in the library? There’s no way that the added comfort of having them off matches the combined discomfort of everyone around you.

Len - Steal My Sunshine
Download .m4a
I was SO excited to find that I still had my copy of Len’s “Can’t Stop the Bum Rush”! One of the best pop albums ever.
Fun facts about Len:
They used to be a Canadian Prairie pop band.
Moka Only is/was a member.
CC Deville (of Poison fame) plays guitar on “Feelin’ Alright”.
I had an awful nightmare last night: Barack pulled out of the race and Hilary emerged as the only Democratic candidate.
I was thinking about audio hardware (and explaining how electric guitar pickups work to a new electrical engineering student) the other day. I have a sound card from about 10 years ago that’s still better than anything else I have. The world of audio has changed A LOT in the past 10 years, but not really on the digital conversion of audio side. There has definitely been improvements on sound...

– Me, in a particularly vulnerable journal entry. I think everyone needs this sense. (via jessicap) I totally get this. This is one of the (major) reasons I ended my relationship with my last boyfriend. I don’t want an obsessive, clingly guy who can’t spend a day without me, but I do want someone...

Yann Martel, author of “Life of Pi”, has been sending our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, a book every two weeks for the past year to help him with “stillness”. I can’t begin to explain how happy I am to have found this.
Matzo Brah / Fried Matzo
If you’ve never tried Matzo Brah, now is the perfect time (impress your Jewish friends for Passover!) It’s delicious and ridiculously easy to make:
Crack your matzo into small pieces and soak in hot water for ~1 minute, depending on how soggy/crisp you want it.
Drain the water through a strainer.
Add eggs, use a 2:3 matzo:egg ratio and adjust for next time if it’s too eggy, by...
I will pay you cold hard cash for a piece of that.

While listening to my iPod this morning, I couldn’t help thinking that even if I never again hear the same song twice, I will (probably) never hear every great song that’s ever been written. Then I started getting a little depressed and existential about the whole concept of songwriting, and why do I bother if there’s already so many great songs already written? Then the Arcade...
Really Funny or Really Sad?
What if Wilfrid Brimley just doesn’t know the right way to pronounce “diabetes” and no one has bothered to correct him?

Jeff’s been looking a little tweaked lately…
I host on Dreamhost. Yes, they have their issues here and there, but which host doesn’t? I used to be with Host Excellence; they were awful! I caught them in a number of lies while dealing with customer service and am fairly positive that I’ve never cursed at a customer serve rep (sorry Kurtis! You were the only one who didn’t outright lie!) so much in my life. Dreamhost might...
NSFW Filter?
I’d love to have an option that labels photo posts as not safe-for-work so they don’t show up in the dashboard. A nice simple check-box on upload and a quick check in the code (if NSFW, don’t display image, only text) would work great (and be dirt easy to implement). I don’t want to un-follow people solely because they make an employer uncomfortable.
Last week, for the first time in twelve years or so, I misspoke.
– Hillary Clinton (via peterwknox)
haha. and with this quote, she keeps the trend going… (via heykurt)
Hilary belongs to that rare group of female douche bags. It would be nice to see a female candidate that people could be proud of.
I’ve started getting spam emails for drugs like Zithromax and Avapro (an antibiotic and a heart medication that has a helpful side effect on kidney function, respectively) at work.

Dawn makes bad coffee. At least she realizes it. That’s the first step to overcoming this terrible affliction. Here’s how to make good coffee.
This is a really good post on making a decent coffee. As an admitted coffee snob, I do have a handful of points to add:
Water boiled from cold will always taste best.
Melita makes great one-cup filter tops that, if done properly (i.e. manually...

The Effects of Hulu
Hulu isn’t available in Canada; we just see a “content not available in your region” message. But, with Hulu available, it would seem that less people are linking to illicit (i.e. YouTube, Daily Motion, etc.) video sites since Hulu, apparently, has better quality.
That said, I have absolutely no idea what’s going on in the world of short-videos-from-TV-shows anymore and...
I just bought a “travel guitar” from eBay for $4 (I didn’t think it was worth it to attempt saving $3 by waiting 8 hours until the end of the auction) so I could bring one to Vermont. It’s blue. Considering it’s cost and colour, I can’t possibly imagine being disappointed.
